Teyana Taylor is the first black woman to grace Maxim’s cover page as she tops Maxims 2021, Hot 100.

The breakout actress, director and recording artist Teyana Taylor lives in Atlanta with her husband, professional basketball player Iman Shumpert. The mother of two was very excited to be the face of Maxim’s Hot 100 issue. And the No. 1 spot on the list. She told Maxim, “I’ve followed Maxim for a long time, and I’ve always felt like I should be on the cover. So to actually get the call saying they want me on the cover really meant a lot. I was like, what? They want me on the cover? Okay!”

Teyana featured in Coming 2 America 2. She was presented as a prospective bride to Lavelle Junson (Jermaine Fowler), long lost son of Prince Akeem, played by Eddie Murphy.
Teyana Taylor’s journey begins in Harlem as the only child of Nikki Taylor. She had her first taste of the limelight at the age of nine, performing in talents shows.

She finally had her break when Beyoncé hired her to choreograph her video, “Ring the Alarm,” in 2006. At 15 years, the graceful choreographer-dancer featured in the music video for Jay-Z’s single, “Blue Magic.” 

Teyana’s debut single, “Google Me,” from the From a Planet Called Harlem, reached No. 90 on U.S. Billboard. From a Planet Called Harlem Album featured artists like Pharrell, Hit-Boy, Jazze Pha, Shondre and Mad Scientist.
