Pastor slams Ex-President Kufuor over freemasonry membership

Founder and Leader of House of Ezra Worldwide Ministries, Prophet John Stephen Kofi Amponsah, popularly known as Kofi Amponsah has slammed former President John Agyekum Kufuor over his freemasonry membership.

According to the controversial pastor, the Gentle Jack, as he is affectionately called, was voted for to change the fortunes of the country and serve God in divinity and in purity, but only for him to abandon his catholic faith to join the freemasonry, a situation he described as “stupidity”.

In 2017, the former President was appointed a Senior Grand Warden of the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE). The United Grand Lodge of England is the governing body for most freemasons within the United Kingdom, with lodges in other Commonwealth countries outside the UK.

Mr Kufuor has also been honoured as a Knight Commander of the Order of Bath of the UK by Queen Elizabeth II and the highest award of the Order of the House of Orange by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, among other international honors.

But speaking at the church’s 2019 Attached Prayer Conference at Asonomaso Nkwanta in the Kwabere East District of the Ashanti Region, the vociferous Prophet said, God has blessed Ghana but the nation is unable to fulfill its divine promises due the wicked intentions of the Ghanaian leadership.

“Look, Ghana we are blessed. Our Presidents have failed us. Look at former President Kufuor, we wasted our time in a cue to vote for him, only to realize he’s a freemason; isn’t he a fool?”, the prophet fumed.

Meanwhile, former President Kufuor has explained that the group Freemason is a platform that nurtures a person morally and not a secret cult as others perceive it.
