No more cement blocks as chairs – MP declares as he rescues Aburaman SHS with study desks

Following news reports that students of Aburaman Senior High School (SHS) sit on cement blocks to learn as a result of inadequate school desks,  the Member of Parliament (MP) for Abura Asebu Kwamankese (AAK), Mr. Elvis Morris Donkor has fixed the situation by providing hundreds of durable metal chairs to improve teaching and learning in the school.

”I have already supplied the school with 850 Mono desks so there was no way the students would sit on cement blocks to learn” he stated.

Mr. Morris Donkor who toured the school with the media including Morning Show Hosts saw every student was sitting on a chair comfortably studying which is a transformation of the situation that hitherto existed.

The lawmaker also supported the construction of a 12-unit classroom block, boys and girls dormitory which can now contain 240 beds as well as Teachers quarters which are at the roofing level and is hopeful these structures will be ready for occupation

He was however unhappy about a number of untarred roads within his Constituency, adding, out 265 communities in his Constituency, only six communities can boast of tarred roads through the NPP government has started something in that regard.

On his part, the Medical Superintendent of Abura Dunkwa Hospital, Dr. Takyi Duayeden applauded the MP and government for helping the hospital to achieve universal health coverage.

He appealed to the government and the MP to extend the males and female wards from seven beds capacity to 30 beds capacity to boost healthcare delivery in the area, noting that the construction of an administration block for the hospital as well as fence wall will also ensure their safety.
