Group appeals to Embassies to Deny political actors visas before election 2020

The Centre for Democratic and Accountable Governance (CEDAG) has appealed to foreign Embassies in Ghana to as a matter of urgency end handing out visas to political actors in the country as Ghana goes to the polls.

According to the Centre it’s imperative that political players in the country are denied access to visas as the tension in the country continues to heighten and they could flee from the country after plunging it into violence.

To the Centre, the Embassies will be doing Ghana a lot of good and also help strengthen the country’s democracy if their appeal not to give out visas to political players before the election.

Adding that this will help them erase the mindset of causing mayhem and fleeing the country whiles citizens fight each other.

Ghana goes to the polls to elect its President and Members of Parliament(MPs) for the next four years.

In all twelve candidates belonging to political parties and Independent Individuals have been cleared by the Electoral Commission to contest for the election.
