A/R: ɑrrɛst mask-less sellers; we don’t want another lockdown – Traders

Some traders in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, have requested the law enforcement agencies to ɑrrɛst and prosecute traders disregarding the compulsory wearing of nose masks to serve as a deterrent to others.

A visit to some of the market areas including Dr Mensah, Borlaho, Racecourse, among other markets showed that despite the compulsory wearing of the nose masks, the majority of traders selling in the city’s markets are not complying.

Others who have the nose masks are either not wearing them properly or putting them in their pockets.

They want those who will be arrɛsted prosecuted or forced to embark on communal labour like sweeping.

Some of the traders told Kumasi FM’s Elisha Adarkwah that flouters of the law on wearing nose masks must be punished because they do not want to witness another lockdown.

They recounted the hardship they had to deal with last year during the lockdown period.

They noted that it will serve as a deterrent to others to comply with the Covid-19 safety protocols to protect themselves from contracting the disease to necessitate another lockdown.
