KCCG: Students embrace ‘keep the city clean and green’- KMA boss impressed

The Mayor of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi, has showed a great impression over how pupils and students within the metropolis have embraced the assembly’s massage of keeping the city clean.

The mayor enthused about how pupils within the metropolis had spick and span up their campuses when he visited some selected schools in the metropolis during the assembly’s “my first day at school” yesterday a project KMA has embarked on over the years.

Speaking to the media after a visit to five Schools in the metropolis, he said his visit to the schools has helped him a lot because students have understood the message of keeping the city clean and green therefore he has been overwhelmed by their attitudes.

However, he has advised pupils to convey the message of keeping the city clean and green to their various homes in order for their parents to also nurture the culture of always tidy up the environment.

According to him, the metropolis would engaged the education directorate of the metropolis to let pupils write essay examination on ‘keeping the city clean and green’ and he believes that would aid the improvement of Sanitation issues among pupils in Ashanti region and the country at large.

This year’s my first day at school brought together the Kumasi Metropolitan Education Directorate led by Mrs. Mather Owusu Agyemang and Bayport savings and loans to donate teaching and learning materials, school sandals and drinks(kalypo) to 5 public schools in the Kumasi metropolis.

Again, Kumasi Youth Association also donated thousands of exercise books to support pupils within the metropolis.

The schools that benefited from the donation included Danyame M/A Basic School, Santasi M/A Basic School, Adumanu M/A Basic School, New Tafo Dichemso M/A School and Najahiya Islamic Basic School.
