As part of measures undertaken to improve upon the high standard of education in the Ashanti Region and Ghana as a whole, Odotobiri Rural Bank Limited has donated grants school scholarship to 80 students in the Amansie Central District in the Ashanti region.
Eighty (80) students out of 171 applicants were awarded the scholarship based on thorough vetting and selection by the Scholarship Committee of the financial institution.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bank, Mr Siaka Ahmed, Mr Emmanuel
Osei Owusu board chairman and some other management members presented the scholarship an amount of GHS 35,000.00 check to the beneficiaries consisting of continuing SHS students and fresh University students in the district.
On the other hand the Bank has donated 4,000 GHS to Tawheed SHS in acquisition pavilion, tables and benches to improve upon their dining hall.
The Ghana Pensioners Association of Obuasi has also received a computer and printer valued 2,840 GHS to facilitate their office duties.
Meanwhile the CEO has asserted that “Odotobiri Rural Bank limited has consistently awarded bursaries to brilliant but needy students in the communities in which the Bank operates….therefore the bank has granted the bursaries to develop these young minds who would become leaders in diverse sectors in the country”.
According to him, the bank will continue to help the brilliant but deprived schools in the the district so that they may also enjoy the quality education.
As a result, students should refrain from all manners of bad habits and embark solely on their studies so that they may pass their exams and then proceed to a high level of education.
