Owner of Boafokwa Tano football club, Yaw Boateng Gyan has asked the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo to form a club to enable him meddle in the activities of football.
According to him, government has no locus to impose personalities who do not own clubs to run the affairs of football in the country and if they have an interest in Football, the President should form a football club.
“The Association is made up of people with football clubs who have voted for some group of people to lead them and if they have been found wanting of a crime, we have to be made to deal with our people, you don’t impose people who do not have football clubs on us.”
“Nothing stops Akufo-Addo from forming Akyem Royals so jhe becomes a football administrator. Then he can join congress and have a say in football. Until then, he has no right to meddle in the activities of the football Association,” he told Humul Khrusum Tahiru on Bolgatanga-based A1 Radio.
He feared that Government’s influence in football matters in the country could set a bad precedence because future governments and that will not augur well for the country.
Yaw Boateng Gyan noted that the leader of the laison team, Dr. Kofi Amoah has no knowledge on football and with him at the helm of affairs, he will close down his footaball club.
