The Federation of International Football Associations, FIFA, has backed Government of Ghana to apply its laws to help rid the Ghana Football Association off criminality.
The Government of Ghana is taking steps to dissolve the current Ghana Football Association in order to restructure the Association after some of its top executives were caught on tape taking bribes to influence games and call ups to national teams.
The Government of Ghana took an initial step by placing an injunction on the activities of the Association for ten days after which they met with a team from the world football governing body.
Although lovers of the game predicted a ban from FIFA as Government moved in to ensure sanity at the Football Association, both parties have resolved to work together to rid the Association of criminality without fear of being banned for interference.
Government’s delegation is expected to finalize their discussion with FIFA in Zurich to finalize interim arrangements regarding football in Ghana.
