Legal practitioner, Mr Tony Lithur has asked the public to give his family some privacy in the dissolution of their marriage.

This follows the leakage and publication of documents he filed for divorce against his wife, Nana Oye Lithur, a former cabinet minister in the erstwhile Mahama administration.

The two have been married for 27 years first under customary on April 14, 1991 and subsequently celebrating the marriage under Ordinance at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Accra on January 16, 1997.
They have four children.

But Mr Tony Lithur on May 2, 2018 filed for divorce Petition against Nana Oye Lithur, a former Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection  seeking a dissolution of their marriage.
The docket copy unfortunately was leaked on social media on Tuesday June 12, 2018 and has generated public discussion.

However, Mr Lithur in his Press statement said:”While acknowledging the existence of the filed Petition, I would like to say that the process is an emotional and difficult one for us and our children.”

He added:”I would therefore very respectfully and humbly, ask the general public to kindly give us, our children and loved ones some privacy to deal quietly with this painful stage of our lives,”
