Former Director of Elections of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Adjei-Mensah Korsah has revealed that the bundles of cash with customized wrappers of candidates Freddie Blay and Stephen Ntim being displayed on social media are the handy work of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He states that the intention for circulating the fake images is to portray as though the party is engaging in money contest which is a big lie.
The Deputy Minister for Regional Reorganization and Development, is, therefore, urging the public to treat it with the contempt it deserves saying “BEWARE AND NOT FALL FOR THE NDC PROPAGANDA.
Bundles of cedi notes in various denominations with designed images of the various Chairmanship aspirants of the NPP are being circulated to create an impression of a “money contest” within the NPP.
It’s A LIE! It’s predictable that some elements from the opposite side would take advantage of the situation to misbehave. It’s an old outmoded trick. ON THE BUSES – as I understand it, the vehicles are to be used by the constituencies for income generation. The NPP is NOT funding it. It’s like work and pay and its aimed at making the constituencies become financially stable and self-reliant. I hope that it works so that the dependence on “political sponsors” that results in political patronage and its attendant corruption is minimized. I’m extremely excited about its potential to wean to a larger extent the party off state resources. True INNOVATION.”
Social media since Thursday night has been awash with images of the bundles of 10 Ghana cedis ad 50 Ghana cedis notes wrapped in a “Freddie Blay and Stephen for NPP National Chairman” paper wrapper respectively.
The camps of both candidates have since denied any knowledge of the wrappers and are accusing some faceless persons of trying to undermine their campaigns.
